KeePassXC has released version 2.7, adding passkey support, a redesigned browser extension, and improved SSH agent integration to the popular offline password manager.
Passkeys can now be stored and used directly from KeePassXC via the browser extension. When a website requests passkey authentication, KeePassXC presents the stored passkey and completes the authentication without requiring a password.
The browser extension has been redesigned with a cleaner interface and better performance. It now supports auto-fill for passkeys, TOTP codes, and traditional passwords from a single unified popup.
SSH agent support has been improved with better key management and support for hardware security keys via the FIDO2 protocol. Developers who use KeePassXC to manage SSH keys will benefit from more reliable agent behavior across different terminal environments.
KeePassXC remains completely free and open-source under the GPL-3.0 license, with no cloud dependency or subscription required.
