Syncthing 1.27 Improves Relay Performance and Adds Conflict Resolution UI
Syncthing has released version 1.27, featuring faster relay server selection, a new conflict resolution interface, and improved performance for synchronizing large folders with many files. Relay servers are used by Syncthing when two devices cannot connect directly — for example, when both are behind NAT. The new relay selection algorithm chooses faster relays more reliably, reducing latency for users who depend on relays for connectivity. The conflict resolution interface is a new addition to the web UI that makes it easier to handle sync conflicts — situations where the same file was modified on two devices before they could sync. Previously, conflicts resulted in duplicate files with modified names that users had to resolve manually. The new UI presents both versions side by side and allows users to choose which to keep. Large folder performance has been improved through better indexing and reduced memory usage during initial sync. Users with folders containing tens of thousands of files will see faster startup times. Syncthing remains completely free and open-source under the MPL-2.0 license, with no central server and no subscription.
